Discover the Flavours of Finland’s Pure Nature

Finnish cuisine has its roots in the forests, lakes and fields of the north. For centuries, Finland’s pure natural ingredients have shaped our food culture, bringing fresh, seasonal flavours to the table.

At Restaurant Saaga in Helsinki, we celebrate this heritage through authentic Finnish cuisine inspired by the changing seasons and Nordic nature. Discover flavours from Finland’s lakes, forests and northern landscapes, along with naturally pure ingredients that tell the story of Finnish food and its close connection to nature.

Traditional Finnish rainbow trout smoked with alder wood at Saaga

Saaga has been serving alder-smoked Finnish rainbow trout since 2002, and over the years it has become one of the restaurant’s best-known classics.

The trout is brought to the table in a smoking box and finished right in front of you. As the box is opened, the aroma of alder smoke and a gentle cloud of smoke turn the presentation into an experience even before the first bite.
